Your journey begins with an 8:00 AM departure from Marrakech, setting out toward Dades Valley through the breathtaking High Atlas Mountains and over the iconic Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Along the way, enjoy opportunities to stop and take in stunning mountain vistas and traditional Berber settlements.
Your first major stop will be Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco’s most iconic landmarks. This ancient Berber kasbah has been featured in over 20 international films and once served as a key stronghold along the Old Salt Road, a vital trade route for gold, ivory, salt, silk, and slaves between Sub-Saharan Africa and Marrakech.
Next, you’ll pass through Ouarzazate, famously known as the “Hollywood of Africa” due to its role as a popular filming location for numerous movies. From Ouarzazate, continue through the Berber settlements of Megoun and Skoura, eventually reaching Dades Valley.
