5-Day Journey from the Sahara Sands to the Atlas Mountains

Upon arrival at Casablanca Airport, your driver will meet you and take you directly to Marrakech, where you’ll meet your local guide for an introductory tour of this enchanting city—Morocco’s heart of culture and charm.

Your exploration will include:

• Koutoubia Mosque: An iconic 11th-century landmark.
• Majorelle Garden: A stunning botanical garden with cacti, palms, and ferns, created by artist Jacques Majorelle.
• Saadian Tombs: A 16th-century burial site adorned with intricate mosaic tiles.

After a break for lunch, immerse yourself in Marrakech’s bustling souks—the city’s vibrant markets. Explore the Babouche (shoes) Souk, Chouari (carpenter’s) market, El-Attarine (perfume and spice) Souk, and Cherratine (leather) Souk. Wander through the narrow alleys surrounding Jemâa El-Fna Square, alive with entertainers such as snake charmers, musicians, dancers, and storytellers.

Overnight: Riad accommodation in Marrakech.

Your driver will pick you up at 8:15 AM to begin your journey toward the Dades Valley—your destination for the first night.

Highlights of the day include:

• Tizi-n-Tishka Pass: Pause here to admire the sweeping views of the High Atlas Mountains.
• Visit to Ait Benhaddou: A UNESCO World Heritage Site and backdrop to famous films like Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and Alexander. Enjoy lunch here.
• Taourirt Kasbah in Ouarzazate: Explore this historic fortress.
• Roses Valley: Known for its annual Rose Festival.
• Berber Villages: Discover the beauty of Skoura and El Kelaa des Mgouna.

Overnight: Hotel in Dades Valley, including dinner and breakfast.

After breakfast, embark on your journey toward the famous Erg Chebbi Desert in Merzouga. Along the way, you’ll pass through captivating landscapes and Berber villages, including:

• Todra Gorges: Walk through this dramatic canyon in Tinghir.
• Tinjdad & Erfoud: Experience the edge of the pre-Saharan oasis region.

Upon arrival in Merzouga, rest at a hotel before preparing for your camel ride into the dunes. Your luggage will be transported by car, but bring a small bag with water and your camera.

Camel Ride Experience:
Ride your camel across the golden Erg Chebbi Sand Dunes, an unforgettable experience as the dunes glow under the setting sun. Arrive at your Berber nomad camp for dinner under a canopy of stars while enjoying traditional desert drums and music.

Overnight: Berber nomad-style tent in the desert.

Awaken early to watch the sunrise over the sand dunes—an unforgettable moment perfect for photography. After breakfast, return to the village of Merzouga (by camel or vehicle) and continue your journey back toward Marrakech.

Route Highlights:

• Alnif, Tazzarine, Nkob: Explore the stunning landscapes of the Draa Valley.
• Ouarzazate: Known as the “Gateway to the Sahara,” this town offers history, culture, and breathtaking scenery.
• Crossing the High Atlas Mountains once more on your way back to Marrakech.

Optional: Stop at Chez Ali, a famous restaurant offering authentic Moroccan cuisine paired with a traditional Berber music and horse show. An excellent way to immerse yourself in the local culture!

Arrival in Marrakech: Afternoon arrival to conclude your day.

Overnight: Riad in Marrakech.

Depending on your flight time, we’ll drive you to Casablanca Airport in time for your departure (we recommend arriving at the airport at least 2 hours before take-off).
